Walking With Jesus: Needing Each Otherby Dr. Gary S. Moore on 05/25/18
One of the great things about being in the ministry is the friends that we make along the way. The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows, but also the sweeter the fellowship with close friends working in the field of service alongside me. I’m just one guy sent out to work by the Lord of the harvest, but when I got out there I found I was not alone! Praise God for that.
“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.” I Corinthians 3:9
Out here in the real world, working for Jesus can get a little lonely, everyone is not on the side of the Saviour, and everybody who responds to the gospel does not always stick. Some days get a little rough to be honest; even though I wouldn’t trade this life for any other, there are moments when it does feel like up hill both ways.
There have been a few times in my life when I have picked up my cell and dialed Clemon Chappell’s number and did not have any real reason to call. I wasn’t inviting him to a meeting, working out details, seeking important information or even asking for a contact. Nope....I just called because I knew I wouldn’t get off the phone without him praying for me. You see, we may live 700 miles apart, but we are laborers together with God. Having that friendship, common purpose, love for the lost, longing to make a difference makes us as close as brothers...it might sound odd to some, but the Love runs deep.
I have many, many other close friends in the ministry who strengthen and encourage me and it’s not just that they help lighten the load, they fill my life with joy. They make this journey wonderful. I love the work of the ministry, but I love the Lord Jesus far more than the work, and right behind that Love is the love for the people He has placed around me in service.
Yes, I’m walking with Jesus everyday, but we are not walking alone...PRAISE GOD FOR THAT.
